Quadratics 4 Dummies!

y= (x-r)(x-s)
x-intercepts: Example,
y= (x-5)(x+3)
(5,0) (-3,0)
The numbers in the equation end up being the oposite value when you sub in zero!
Axis of Symmetry:
(a+b)/2
(5+(-3))/2
3.5=A.O.S
Now we have enough info to find the optimal value! We just need to plug in what we know to the first equation.
y= (3.5+5)(3.5-3)
y=(8.5)(0.5)
y=(4.25)
There we go! Now we have enough info to draw a least a rough sketch of the graoh sice we have the x and y-intercepts, A.O.S and optimal value.
